Our aim is to perform a thorough physiotherapy assessment of patients with diverse and complex conditions, using highly developed clinical reasoning skills and manual assessment techniques. This will be used to determine an accurate clinical diagnosis, and to formulate and deliver a patient focused treatment program, helping our patients to resume as active and independent a life, as quickly as possible.

Chartered Physiotherapists are bound to abide by a Code of Conduct which sets out expected standards of professional practice and have  professional indemnity insurance.

After service in the Royal Netherlands Army, Mark attended and graduated from the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, The Netherlands in 1993. While working in Switzerland, he completed a postgraduate in Maitland Manual Concept and Trigger Point Therapy. He also attended a two-year postgraduate in Sports & Exercise Medicine in NUI Galway in 2009-2010. In 1995, he moved to Limerick and became a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists. After extensively working in private practice for over 20 years in Limerick City, he opened his own clinic in Killaloe Ballina and joined Dooradoyle Physiotherapy Clinic in 2012. He divides his work schedule between different sports teams and private practice. He has been working as Senior Physiotherapist with Limerick County GAA for the last 10 years and Garryowen Rugby Club for the last 20 years. Mark accompanied Garryowen Senior Team to the Amateur World Championship in France in 2007 where they represented Ireland after winning the championship and league. For the Limerick County GAA, he has worked with the Senior Footballers from 2005 to 2012 and with all levels of Hurling Squads from 2010 to present (Senior, Minor, U21, Intermediate, Bord na nOg). Mark has also treated the Limerick County Senior Camogie squad from 2012 to present.  He worked with St. Munchin’s School rugby teams from 1998 to 2007 and with CBS Nenagh, who won the Dr. Croke Cup in 2012, in 2012 and 2013. Up until 2007, he worked with Marathon Basketball Club’s Senior Team who played in the First Division. In 2003, Mark accompanied the Irish Olympic High Performance Boxing Squad in their training camp in Russia, under coach Billy Walsh. He is currently the Sports Injury Physiotherapist of choice for a number of GAA Club Teams in Limerick, Clare and Tipperary.

Previously, Mark was Senior Physiotherapist with the Midwestern Spina Bifida Association from 1996 to 2003. He worked in the private practice of Charles Engel, President of the Society of Manual Therapists in Biel Switzerland from 1994 to 1996, in Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield England in 1994, and in the private practice of DR Med H.U. Bieri in Biel Switzerland.

Over the years Mark has been a clinical tutor for the University Of Limerick, the Institute of Allied Health Studies in Enschede and the University of Applied Sciences in Utrecht, The Netherlands.  He has run courses in strapping & dynamic tapping for Fleming Medical and he continues to support many newly qualified physiotherapists in gaining practical experience in pitch side physiotherapy.

Mark has a blackbelt in Tae-Kwon-Do and was an accomplished kick boxer in his time. It was these pursuits that first sparked his interest in sport injury and prevention and subsequently in sports physiotherapy.

Mark Van Drumpt

Cynthia qualified in 1986 from Arnhem Physiotherapy College in the Netherlands with a BSc. in Physiotherapy.  Cynthia worked in a general hospital setting in the Netherlands before moving to Germany to start working in private practice. She then moved to Switzerland, where she gained valuable experience in one of her specialised fields, musculoskeletal physiotherapy, moving from a small clinic with mainly rheumatology workload to large private practice with hydrotherapy pool.  Working in a large team with a lecturer from the physiotherapy college in the University Hospital in Bern, who provided weekly in-service training in the clinic, she specialised in Sports Injuries, Maitland Spinal Mobilisation, Soft Tissue Massage and post–op Rehabilitation.

In 1993, she moved to Ireland and founded the Dooradoyle Physiotherapy Clinic while working part time in Limerick Regional Hospital Physiotherapy Department.  In 1996, after the birth of her first child, she commenced working with patients with incontinence in Limerick Regional Hospital. She started postgraduate training in the treatment of pelvic floor dysfunction with Dr. J. Laycock, a leading women’s health physiotherapist in England.  She has completed and continues to attend many women’s and men’s health courses in Holland, England and Ireland, seizing every opportunity to further her understanding of the many issues relating to treating patients with bladder and bowel conditions, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic pain.

Due to her interest in hands-on treatments, she completed her Myofascial Tiggerpoint Therapy training in Switzerland, continued courses in Limerick, and specialised in Manual Therapy/Triggerpoint Therapy of the pelvic floor with Maeve Whelan in Dublin.

She is also trained and is highly experienced in EMG Biofeedback for the pelvic floor, an effective tool for teaching patients with bladder and/or bowel problems the right way to perform their pelvic floor exercises.

Her workload is a combination of orthopedic/sports and women’s/men’s health.

Cynthia is married with 3 children, all eager sport players, and is involved with school hockey teams and with the girls under age Munster hockey team at inter pro level.
